Because of the city in which we live, there are quite a few historical artefacts and war memorials throughout the town. Several weeks ago we were at a park, and there was a cannon guarding the entrance.
"What does a cannon do, Mummy?" asked G.
And so, I talked about cannons and cannon balls: as a history major (the historical significance) and as a mom (I tried to make it as gentle and safe as possible).
"Oh!" said G, and a light went on. "Just like the black birds in Angry Birds."
Who are we that You should notice us; mere mortals that You should care for us? For we are like a breath of air; our days are like a passing shadow. (Ps 144) ...Here are just a few captured moments from our lives...

Nursery Rhymes
This month's theme in G's kindergarten class is "Nursery Rhymes." He's been coming home singing or chanting a few of them - mostly right, but not quite all the way.
Tonight as he was getting ready for bed, I made sure he had gone to the bathroom. "Yup," he said. "Little Go Pee."

School
I know this is a week late, but I wanted to share the picture of our (little?) (big?) boy on his first day of school.

He was pretty excited.

This little boy got to blow out FIVE candles for his birthday yesterday.

We love you, G. You are a clever, fun, and talented boy. It is a gift to watch you grow.
