A Few More

I managed to get a few more good reads in:

Although both are classics, of the two I prefer "A Little Princess." The characters were more vivid and likeable and the story seemed to move at a better pace.

This name book was about the most unhelpful I've read - but it was entertaining, so not a complete waste of time. Still no good leads on what to name the Bulge, though, so if it is born early, it might remain "#3" for a while.

Six - Ish

Well, there is certainly a difference between the first child and third child in terms of how many belly shots are taken and how often. I hope this child knows that it will be just as loved as our other Treasures - just less documented.
However, a few weeks ago (I can't even remember how many - isn't that bad?) I did make an intentional effort to get a few pictures of the ever-growing and seemingly ever-moving Bulge. I think these pictures were taken at the six-ish month mark, and I am at the 7 month mark now (oops, again.). Things are going well, and we are very excited to meet the little person that it is.

Seven

Who are those crazy kids?
Why are they having so much fun?
And why do they look so in love?

Happy anniversary to my best friend; the man who still makes me laugh; my good gift; and the man that I love deeply and am still so very in love with.
I am so excited to grow old with you.

Not Quite the Answer I Was Expecting

I had already washed N up and had taken her out of the bath, but G still needed some "bubbles" and a final rinse.
"Alright, G, let's clean under your neck and get rid of the dirt."
"Where are you going to put the dirt? In the water?"
"Yup, in the water."
"There's already dirt in the water."
"Where is it from?"
"From that white thing."
"White thing? What white thing?"
"That white thing that you use to clean the toilet."

What Ails Us

Sorry for the lack of updates...life hasn't exactly been "crazy" but it has been a bit different than we thought it would be at the start of last week.
On Monday night, N woke up -repeatedly (about seven times in five hours). Three cheers for Rodney who took the brunt of that one. Long story short, we ended up taking her to the doctor the next morning (they were very kind, and squeezed her in, even though there was no actual appointment available.). After a bit of a wait, we were able to see the doctor, who then referred us to the children's outpatient clinic. The triage nurse saw us right away, did some poking, prodding and testing, and then gave us a bed right away. Along came more nurses, resident, pokes, prods and tests, and then we were sent to get some chest x-rays. In the end, it was confirmed that N has pneumonia.
While it was a bit of a scary diagnosis, I have to say how impressed I was with the health care system that day. We were seen quickly, taken seriously, and given quality care. Everything was as good as it could have been. The other thing for which I am thankful was how quickly the medicine started working. By the next morning, you could hardly tell she was sick. We are still being cautious, but it hasn't been the terrible experience that it could have been.
G has picked up a bit of a cough as well, and we are keeping our eye on him to make sure that it isn't the same thing.
To round things out, I did something - I couldn't say what - to my back, and have been in pain and/or discomfort for the last few days. It is getting *much* better from what it was, but I am still limited. Hooray for healthy backs: they are a pretty important body part.

It's True

My class often likes to hear tidbits of my life: what I drive, what my family life is like, some childhood moments, etc. Today, after doing a lesson on co-operation and using a three-legged walk as an object lesson, I thought they might want to know what I thought was an interesting, little known fact.
"Did you know, class, that when I was in grade six, I won the three-legged race for the entire school?"
Came an incredulous response, "You were in grade six?!?!"

Quotables

Me: Oooh, N has a big poop.
G: Big? How big?
Me: Big.
G: Is it as big as Goliath?

Mummy, did you eat a baby? Is that why there is a baby in your tummy?

Dear Daughter,

I love you. Even so, just so you are aware, six times is too many to poop in a day. It is by no means a record (sadly), but now that you are out of the "baby" stage and are a "big" girl, any innocence and decency that your poop once had is now faaaar gone. I hope you can understand.
I remain,
Your loving and doting Mama
