I just got back last night from a trip to New York with my oma and my mom. My wonderful oma paid for our flights, and my gracious uncle took us in for several nights in his penthouse Manhattan apartment! (I was living in style the cheap way!) It was great to be able to spend some time with three generations and to be able to see a bit more of a wonderful city. Hghlights included visiting the former site of the Twin Towers, walking along the riverfront, going to a piano, cello and violin trio at Carnegie Hall (and thus fulfilling a childhood dream of mine), people-watching in Central Park, shopping at Macy's and F.A.O Shwartz, and walking along Fifth Avenue (we knew we were in trouble when a pair of gloves cost over $400 at Saks - Yikes!).
Another highlight: despite generations of genes of directionally-challenged women, being able to navigate our way around the city and NOT get lost at any point of the trip!
The ultimate highlight: seeing Rod again!

Spectacular. That sounds like a great time.
Come to Gatineau sometime. You can live cheap, the stylish way.
