Odds 'n' Ends

-I was sorting through some boxes the other day and found the matching pair to a sock of G's that I lost - about a year and nine months ago. It was a very happy reunion. Quite pathetically, that was the highlight of my day.
-I forgot how small socks can be.
-For the first time in my life, I am the owner of a dishwasher (that works).
One load successfully washed, dried, and put away. Minimal effort. *Very* nice. I am trying not to get used to it so that I don't spoil myself.
-I lost my engagement ring. I frantically looked for it everywhere I could think of: the laundry, under couch cushions, by the sink, on the mantle....I found it about five minutes later sitting pretty on the table, in full view. I'm not sure how it got there: I'm sure I was involved somehow, though.
-We didn't get approved for our building permit. I am okay with that, but it does mean that we now have to figure out what some of our other options are, and how, and when. Lots to consider.

Thanks for the little update and for the laugh with the exquisitively labeled diagram of the results of baking with a two year-old who has loved chocolate for over half his life! I am sorry you didn't get approval for your building plans, but maybe in the end you will end up with something even better. Congratulations on the dishwasher... eventually you won't be able to imagine life without it.

I just reunited a pair of socks this morning, it is a nice feeling eh? :) Glad you found your ring! Is the building permit issue something you can work on or is it a definte "no"?

The permit could be pursued if it is something that we are absolutely gung-ho about....it does cost quite a bit more, in terms of time and of money, but there is still no guarantee that we would get it. The coming baby also adds an extra dimension. So....?? what is best?
