A Few Things of (Dis)Interest From Our Holidays

-We saw monkeys in the wild
-I lost one of my mittens that my Oma knit for me
-We were able to try a lot of brand-new (for us) Japanese food: soba noodles (eaten especially on New Years), nato (fermented soy beans), sweet red bean soup, Hiroshima-style Okinomiyaki (cabbage pancake, of sorts).
-I bought a pair of shoes for 250 Yen (about $2.50)
-We learned that drinking alchohol with a poisonous snake marinating in it is said to cure impotence
-Rod grew a beard
-Good luck charms are purchased every year, and every New Years, they must be burned and a new one bought
-We slept on a bed for the first time since we left Ontario
