Arden’s Wisdom

We have some pretty adorable nieces and nephews, on both sides. Here is a snippet of our conversation with Arden last evening as she was sitting on our laps.
Arden: You two are together and he’s the husband (pointing to Rod)….but what are you? (pointing to me)?
Me: I’m the wife.
Arden: Right. Because you got married.
Me: Yeah, we did.
Arden, in a whisper: What did you have?
Me, slightly confused: Uh…we had a wedding.
Arden: No, I mean, (in a whisper) what did you have (in a quieter whisper) in here?? (pointing to her belly)
Me, finally understanding – mostly: Oh! We haven’t had any babies yet.
Arden: Well, you’re supposed to!

Thanks. I’ll pass that on. The pressure isn’t coming from the parents, grandparents, or siblings, but from our four year old niece.

And later, as she was putting a dozen or so hair clips in my hair…
Rod: be careful Arden, or you’ll hurt Aunt Rebecca and you’ll make her cry.
Arden: But she’s big, and big people can’t cry. They don’t know how.

Nobody told me that I was supposed to forget how to shed tears. I better learn.

Heh heh heh!

Thanks for posting all your weird and wonderful stories, Bec!

It's always good to check in and see how things are going in Canada-land.

All the best for the big move!

That is funny.

Hey Becky, I don't think you got my e-mail, so I'll ask you here.

Uh, would it be possible to carpool with you from your place to the Van Berkel wedding, or at least as far as Hamilton? Our car is in no condition for such a trip. If not, please let us know. Thank you.

John.

Cousin John...for sure we can carpool - I just sent you an email: hopefully you get it.
