Disaster Averted

G was getting out of hand. He had had a busy day playing with a buddy, naptime had been short, and the day was drawing to a close; Rod was in the middle of something and I was also feeling harried. In an effort to curb some energy and occupy him for a few extra minutes, I asked him to put the clothes in the washer, a job he often quite enjoys. Thankfully he obliged and I was able to get a few things done while he did it.
After he was in bed, I reconsidered the order of my loads, trying to be strategic about my laundry since we had some running around to do the next day. Yes, laundry does, at times, require strategic planning. Don't laugh.
In the end I decided that it would be a better use of time if I did the *other* load first, so I undid G's work.
It was a decision that I didn't regret: under the pile of clothes was this nice collection of toys that *almost* got washed. I'm not sure how many would have made it out alive....not to mention the clothes. Diggers and zebra hooves never did do much for clothing, as far as I've heard.

I just washed Esther's sippy cup the other day! She can now open the door on both machines - not always a helpful helper!

I've accidentally washed a number of toys as well... usually they turn out fine :)

Heehee! You should tell him that dishwashers work much better for cleaning toys. :)

On a sad note, I found out today that my washing machine is not long for this world. Sadness.
