Some Helpful Hints

Dear Makers-of-Maternity-Wear,
I should start out by saying that I am truly glad for your contribution to my life. You really do make it easier for me to accomplish one of the most important tasks of the day (i.e. putting on clothes). I - and everyone around me - am very thankful. Having said that, I would like to point out some things that perhaps you could improve upon? While I would by no mean count myself an expert on this thing called "pregnancy," I do have some experience; perhaps my experience can help you make even better products.
First, it would be beneficial if the clothes (particularly shirts) that you make would fit until past the seventh month mark. As you may or may not be aware, pregnancies tend to last a full nine months. It is somewhat awkward, uncomfortable, unpleasant, unattractive, and downright a bad idea to show several inches of overly-stretched lower belly to the general public. In short: please lengthen your shirts. As a personal example, one of the shirts I own, clearly labelled "maternity" on the tag, has not covered my stomach for a full 4 months. That seems like an overly liberal use of the word "maternity wear.")
In addition, while I recognize your desire to make us, as women, feel attractive during pregnancy, your "enhancements" of certain chest-al parts is not always appreciated. I can understand that the body changes and some may want to let the world see how much they are growing in places beyond the belly. However, please refrain from making so many of your shirts with plunging necklines. Not everyone needs to see it.
A final thought regarding tops: it is commendable that there are such things as form-fitting options. The glory days of the mumu are over. However, when making form fitting tops, please do remember to provide enough elastic in them to actually stretch over the bulge. It helps.
Likewise, with regards to bottoms: I am very glad for such things as elastic waists. They truly make life much more enjoyable. However, when providing this option, please make sure that the elastic is of the stretchable variety. There are few things less comfortable than the sense of wearing a corset while growing a baby.
I do thank you for your attention to these matters,
A Consumer
