Saturday Clean Up

Rod doesn't usually have to work on Saturdays, but today was an exception. It didn't seem to make a difference, though, since all three kids were raring to go by quarter to six this morning.
"I don't know how to fill the day," I jokingly said to Rod. "It's just after six and the kids are already fed."
I needn't have worried.
Rod was just heading out the door when my answer came. G had been playing with a can of pop (we all know where this is going) and it suddenly dropped. It must have landed just right (wrong): the can - now shaken and punctured - spun furiously around and around in a circle so that it sprayed the entire kitchen with dark, sugary liquid. By "entire" I mean the walls, the cupboards, the (open and full of clean dishes) dishwasher, the stove, the fridge and an especially large puddle in the middle of the floor.

"That was cool," said G.
"I'm laughing, but only because I'm leaving," said Rod (and proceeded to do so).
"Can I see?" said N.
And so, still in my jammies, not yet breakfasted, I cleaned it up. Good thing I was so bored.

We're laughing - but only because we're not there. :D

It's not the sort of thing you can leave for later for when Rod gets home. Hopefully, a back rub (your back, not his) is in order.

At least it was Saturday (cheap hydro day) and you could run the dish washer multiple times on cheap rates?! Oh boy! You have quite the excitement there!
