Feeling Blessed

With the upcoming arrival of Little One sometime in the next 6ish weeks, combined with working two other jobs; kids who are showing their sinful, unpleasant side seemingly more often than not; the normal "stuff" of life; and major house renovations, there have been many days in the last little while that I have been feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and cranky.
But..
This weekend and as I am sitting here right now I feel blessed.
My parents decided that it was time to spoil us again.
They woke up at silly o'clock and drove several hours to be at our place early in the morning on Saturday. My dad, who is an excellent carpenter, wanted to help us with the renovations. He and Rod worked for over 12 hours on the house and were able to get SO much done. "It was a year's worth of Saturdays," according to Rod. I will say that it was very excited to come home at the end of the day and see all that they managed to do.
Part of the "spoil package" was that they had booked a hotel room so that me, my mom, and the kids could be away from the house and have our own set of fun. We went shopping, went out for lunch, went swimming, had a picnic in the hotel room, and had a great day of taking care of the kids together.
My parents kept the kids at the hotel room for the night, so that Rod and I could enjoy a quiet start to the day today. Even that was such a gift: a slow start, sipping coffee together, conversing in ways we don't always get to. We followed it with church, a great lunch all together, and a family naptime.
Some days, some weekends, are just good all the way around; this was one of them.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for this gift.
