Day Seven: Wednesday

We arrived in Beijing at about 6:30, got some breakfast (I will ashamedly admit it was McDonalds) and then, for another highlight of our trip, we headed to the Great Wall! It was built in sections, but parts of it date from 770 BC, and it continues for 6300 km! I think in the case like the Great Wall, pictures do more justice than words… (click on them for a better view)

We didn’t get to spend as much time there as we would have liked…it was just such an incredible sight and amazing to be able to see, and we were all thrilled to be there. (I will say that when you go with four athletic young men, it’s hard work when they decide to run up the stairs with eight days worth of personal belongings on your back.)

We headed back to Beijing and checked into the hostel, and then went back to the bargaining street that we had gone to earlier, and bought a few other souvenirs and dinner.

It looks like you guys had a lovely clear day for your trip to the Wall. Great pictures.

Yeah, it was a really nice day. It was a little crowded on this section of the wall because it was the most touristy area around... but it was still a good time.
