It has been a quiet few days at our home. Rod's parents gifted us with three days of being child free! We dropped them off on Sunday and they arrive later this afternoon. We've got some updates, and it seems they have had quite the time - a birthday party; nail polish; a sandbox; free run of and exploring the property; a trip to the zoo and splash pad; and meals that I haven't cooked them in a long time. They aren't going to want to come home!
As for the homestead, what have we been doing with our time, you might ask? Surely, with no kids, I've been bored?
Well, no, but thank you for asking. I have been sitting at our table, writing up lesson plans, re-typing lesson plans, organizing lesson plans, reviewing lesson plans, reading curriculum expectations...you get the idea. It's been a hoot and a holler.
I will say, however, that I literally could not have done any of this work with my children around. I will also say (lest you feel toooo sorry for me) that I have managed to squeeze in a little bit of fun. Rod and I went on a date last night! I got my haircut (but not my moustache waxed); I went and did some errands, including grocery shopping - all by myself. It's amazing how fast one person can zip into a store.
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for this time!

Thank you for sharing your children! It's a great way to get to know them even better, and they behaved beautifully. Keep up the good work, parents!
