A Day Away

By Bec
We had the day off yesterday so decided to go to Kyoto. Rather than try to see all the different sites, we thought that we would opt for a more relaxing day, take our time, and see only a few things, but see them at our own pace.

A traditional teahouse (we think!)

Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto's most famous landmark. It was built in 1633 and is famous both for being built on pillars on top of a cliff, and for the view of Kyoto.

After spending some time at the temple, we walked to Gion, the traditional district most known for its geisha. In reality, Gion has become little different from the rest of Kyoto. We (and by "we," I mean "I") were on a mission to find at least one geisha. We didn't see any, but we did see this apprentice.

Our feet started to get sore, so we headed to this park to sit down for a while.
