Quotables....Not Quite Compliments

(This one's for you, Meaghan)
I was hoping our next post would be one entitled "Introducing" or something clever like that, with a nice picture of a baby. Or, at very least, I was hoping for something not quite so pregnancy/mom-centred. Alas....my world is still very small at this point, and we are still living in expectation. And so... I thought it might be humourous to share some of the comments that have been made regarding my belly over the last little while. I only post these because, truly, I know that my stomach is a miracle-producing, beautiful (if not pretty) thing.
I should add that these comments were made by people I know well, so can be taken with a grain (or box) of salt.

"It might be your job for awhile to make other people feel better about their stomachs."

"I'm sure someone somewhere out there has a stomach in worse shape than you."

"You look like a piece of Hubba Bubba."
(To be halfway fair, I was wearing a pink shirt at the time.)

"Your stomach is pretty scary looking."

"It looks like there is a tumour growing *outside* of your body."

"It looks like a close-up of a hurricane...all the waves and ripples and stuff."

"I feel sorry for you, every time I see you."

Your stomach is quite remarkable. I have never seen anything quite like it. It won't be long now... just be patient!

Ha - That's all I have to say about that!
Oh, and I love you dearly.

I think most people are just AMAZED at the fact that it really looks like you're stashing a watermelon under your shirt :) And maybe they're a little jealous that you didn't gain weight anywhere else BUT your belly!

It's definitely beautiful, Bec! And you'll always be gorgeous.

I can't wait to see the little one!! Every morning I open my emails in anticipation of *THE-mail* from you!

Here's to peace and joy in abundance!

I'm still finding it ironic that this picture hanging on your closet door (drawn Oct. 2000 by a Gayle and Jocelyn) looks alot like you do now.It predicted 'Becky in 10 years" a cute little pregnant woman. "P.S.I bet its a girl". Who woulda thung its reality. We love you Becky Boo
