My New Toy

Recently I purchased a new zoom lens for my camera. It was slightly used, and on sale for a really good price. This was one of the accessories that I had hoped to get for my camera someday, and that day came. Here is a little demonstration of the difference it makes:

Original lens at widest angle (18mm)

Original lens at highest zoom (55mm)

New Zoom lens at widest angle (70mm)

New zoom lens at highest zoom (300mm)

Fun, eh!

That's awesome Rod. I'm insanely jealous.

When you get back we can go on the deck and take pictures of Dawn sunbathing.

Real nifty. Serious spying equiptment.

Oh I think not! My new privacy fence went up TODAY!!

What a cool toy Rod - I, as well, am quite jealous. Maybe when you get back you can come here and I can try to catch a glimpse of your brother in his 'special' sequin outfit. (Okay, everyone together now... "SUPERSTAR!!")

My mother says it's special, but I have my doubts as it didn't even get me through the auditions of Canadian Idol. I guess I didn't project a robust enough image, what with the sequins and my rousing rendition of "In the Navy".

And I'm glad you've built the fence Dawn, really. I hope you feel quite comfortable behind it, safe in the knowledge that no one can see you, and tan lines really are unnecessary.

Rod, before you head over here you should stop off at Dad's first and grab the bucket truck along with two 'utility worker' vests. It's time we replaced some streetlight bulbs.

Plus I need the vest for next weeks 'YMCA' audition.

hey Rod, is that new lens for your digital camera? and if so what kind of digital do you have?

You are soooo sneaky... plus if you wore the vest and the sequin speedo, I wouldn't be able to miss you in the bucket truck???

Rod are you bothered by the way your conversational site has gone??? Are people asking you what the heck is going on??

I can't believe how ridiculously fun this is - and how sad it is that I can't wait til I get home from work to check to see if you or Glen has replied to my sometimes tasteless tidbits...

Hey Dawn,
I have heard no complaints from anyone about the comments, and truthfully I get a kick out of them, and besides it is nice to have someone commenting on our blog so much.

Lansky,
Yeah, this is a lens for my digital; it is a Nikon D50 DSLR that we purchased in January. It was cheaper in Japan than Canada, however the trade off was that all of the support manuals and software is in Japanese.

Glen,
I am glad to hear that Nic got you an air conditioner. Here in Japan my A/C is my best friend next to Bec. I look forward to seeing you guys... however, maybe not seeing as much of you as your description entails.

Dawn, tasteless is not how I'd describe your tidbits; I would have described them as 'spicy'.

Maybe we should label them 'Dawn's Hot Cajun Comments' and put a consumer warning on the package: "This Product is Derived From Someone Who is a Little Nuts".

And don't worry about seeing too much of me, Rod. One quick glance and you'll be blinded for the rest of the week. I carry along a set of spare guide dogs for just this eventuality.

Spicy?? and Nuts?? hmmmm, hope no one has an alergy to nuts...(and as long as they're not peanuts - I have trouble with them).

Glen, how many sets of guide dogs do you have as spares for people you blind?? I'm assuming that this is a regular occurance, the blinding of people I mean. Is it only temporary blindness and the dogs are returned to you? Or do you receive a cut of the profits from the dog training program??

Rod, what happens when you and Bec get home and we have no more blogs to bicker over?? (What a horrible thought that is - Glen, what will we do?????)
